• Summer holidays week 2: the Olympics

    We live in London – and right now it’s the best city in the world.  Everything’s a-buzz with the Olympics – it just feels so exciting!  I’m taking the kids to see some of the events later this week and we can’t wait – the kids have really caught Olympic fever!

    There are LOADS of ideas for Olympic inspired activities you can do with your kids – from having your own race-days, to making medals and flags, to finding out about the different countries that are competing.  Here’s our round-up of the best sites – do let us have any other recommendations and we’ll add them to our list!

    4. Learn about the Ancient games with historyforkids.org
    5. Be inspired by The Activity Village and have your own mini-Olympics
    6. Design your own mascots on the London 2012 site
    7. Pick a country to support and find out about their flag
    8. Try your hand at salt dough medals with The Imagination Tree
